Hi

it looks great. The color seems to be the same one as the illumination color from the climatronic. And the red color looks like the other original VW red.

Do someone have a pinout-diagram of the Power-ISO-contact in passat??

There are three wires that I don´t know what it is...

They have the following colours:

White/blue?
Green?
Blue/red?

These wires are not connected when I use the special Blaupunkt-adapter..

One of them maybe reverse wire or GALA/speed sense wire??

Please help me!!

Have a look at this:
http://www.superforce.de/passat/lutschi/steckerbelegung.pdf

White/blue - GALA
Blue/red? - SAVE-Contact (a special feature for VW radios)

But the green one ??? Is it only green oder green with another color ?

Oh, Sorry I think the green one also had an another color...probably white, according to the URL you sent...

Just to make sure - GALA is the same as speedsignal??

Were can I find the reverse light wire?

Thank you very much for the URL!!

Regards

Patrik

Hi,

the GALA signal is the speed signal you reported.
The reverse light wire is not connected near the radio. You will find the wire behind one fold in the front seat passenger floor
space. It's color must be blue/red. But attention. Check it out before you connect it to whatever you want. On the wire you will find +12V DC if you use your reverse gear.

Hi again!

I looked after that red connector with the wires which was connected to it, but I don´t have any red connector shown on the pic?!? That slot is empty on my passenger side!

I also looked at the drivers side and found nothing...

Help! Is my car a fake!?!

I used the red connector to put the yellow wire to the red/blue wire. This connector is available at electronic shops to split one wire to two without cutting. The red/blue wire must be found on drivers and passengers side.

If you see any red/blue wire, please check for 12V+. Use a voltmeter on ground (many brown wires on the chassis is ground). Then turn on ignition and switch to rear gear. If you found the right wire, there is only 12V+ when iginition is turned on and rear gear is switched.

The picture was taken one week ago. I have installed the VDO 4150 RS navigation system in my new Passat MY 2004.

The red connector I´m talking about is the factory-connector next to the yellow one in the lower part of the pic...
I will check all blue/red wires in the passenger area tonight!
Thanks for the information!

Ok. I´m sorry for the missunderstanding. Next time I´ll better read the text. Now I saw, that you´ve written, the place of the red connector is empty at your car.

If you can´t find the cable in the passengers area, you can check the color at the reverse light directly. The wire to the reverse light is the same. Maybe VW used another wire color.

Yes, yes yes!! I found the reverse light wire and I have also connected the GALA wire, so now everything works just fine!!
(I found the reverse wire (blue/red) on the driver side using a voltmeter!)

I´m very impressed over the accuracy the system have!!

I'm very happy and I will really thank you all for helping me out!! Without
you guys I had never completed this installation by myself!!!!

Best regards

I´m thinking about the reason your car doesn´t have the reverse light wire on passengers side.

Does your car have the PDC (park distance control)? If no, maybe that´s the reason.

No, I don´t have the PDC!

Next problem to solve is to get my handsfree unit connected to my Travelpilot E1. If it wired correctly, I can hear the person I call thru the speakers...

My question is:

If I use this Blaupunkt wire (see URL below) and connect the +wire and -wire to a 3,5 mm plug and connect that plug into the HF-kit... Is that possible? Does it work?

sukram_trebe

Yes. The green and yellow wire to the 3,5mm plug and it will work.

Maybe you have to set the signal high or low for the mute. This can be done in the installation menu of the radio. Some handsfree kits switch mute to 12V+ other switch to ground.

You can buy the green ISO plug at your local VW dealer and wire them by yourself. This seems to be cheaper. Please check here.

Hi again!

I need some more help with the phone adapter (see thread above)...

I made a "Mini-ISO - 3,5 m.m mono plug", without success

I didn´t connect the mute tel pin in the Mini-ISO, because I have telephone mute in the black power-ISO.. Now to my question - Must I also connect a mute wire from the mini-ISO and tap it to the other mute wire (ISO black)?? Can I only use Mini-ISO mute?? What is the difference?
Note that the wire Blaupunkt sell has three wires: + tel, - tel, tel mute!
Please help me!!
