Golf vs Passat:
I completely agree with Diana. The Passat is the better car, its buit-quality is better. The comfort is better and it is safer car as well. I have driven a Golf as well. Till I was 20 years old I drove a Golf 2 1.8L It was a good car, we did 310 Tkm with it
and it still ran great! But at the end it was time to replace that car. From the beginning I have wanted a Passat and till now I have never regret it. A friend of mine recommeded me a Passat instead of a Golf. Not that a Golf is a bad car, far from it but a Passat is something completely different. As I have said before, its built-quality is higher, it has better suspension, superb standard brakes. It will always be the better car.
If you wouldn't buy a Passat I would recommend you an Audi A3. So, again I agree with Diana. The noise isolation is much better, I have heard that you hear too much diesel sound inside of the Golf. That is a pitty.
There is one last thing that I want to add; If you can wait with buying a new car I would. Because at the end of this year VW will lauch their new Passat and I think it will be a BEAUTY. And if you look at all the new technical stuff they are going to release as well ... It is awesone :!: For example the new gearbox with DSG, some new diesel engines etc etc... . And in the end you can still buy a Golf 5 if you want, but won't it be dreadful that you would buy a Golf and in a few months time you regret it that you didn't buy another car.
Anyway, the thing that I 'm doing is; I just sit back and I wait and see
Because I expect A LOT from the new Passat and the new A6.
